A five-minute guide for newcomers

New here? Start here.

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) is a spiritual and humanitarian organization founded by His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. We teach meditation as an experience you verify for yourself, gather weekly as a community, and serve society, all free of cost.

At your own pace

Three easy ways to begin

  1. Get curious, online

Read Meditation, demystified, explore the research in the Inner Science Lab, or try its free three-minute focus reset. (A focus exercise is a relaxation aid, not the meditation itself.)

  2. Join a gathering

Come to an ashram near you, or join online on Thursdays at 6:00 PM ET and Saturdays at 1:00 PM ET. Everyone is welcome, and there’s nothing to sign up for at the door.

  3. Ask about meditation

When you feel ready, ask for a conversation about initiation into meditation (Brahm Gyan). There is no pressure and no fee, ever.

No surprises

Your first visit, in four frames

You don’t need to know anything, bring anything or wear anything special.

  1. Step 1: Warm Welcome

Arrive as you are. No dress code, no prerequisites. Someone greets you at the door to show you around.

  2. Step 2: Settle Comfortably

Shoes stay at the rack. Sit comfortably on soft carpeting or chairs, whatever suits your body.

  3. Step 3: Music, Talk & Silence

Soulful devotional music, practical spiritual discourse, followed by quiet meditation. Feel free to simply listen.

  4. Step 4: Warm Community Langar

Many gatherings end with a fresh vegetarian meal shared with the community. Always complimentary.

Direct inner perception

Four experiences you verify within

Brahm Gyan is not something to imagine or believe. At initiation a perfect living Master, His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, reveals four inner experiences, and each seeker then verifies them in daily meditation.

The experiences are revealed at initiation and verified by each seeker. The research links describe studies of meditation in general, not of Brahm Gyan, and say where those studies stop.
